Anion Analysis and H2O content

Electronic components like PCBs are prone to corrosion phenomena when exhibited to moisture and possible environmental contaminations. Especially halides but also sulfide can cause damage to circuits and components. Depending on triggering contamination the failure mechanisms are very different, thus it is important to know the root cause for failures to implement counter measures.

E.g. ion chromatography can be used to identify and also quantify halides like chloride or bromide.

The range of services of the laboratory covers the following test methods:

IC – Ion Chromatography

Ion chromatography (IC) is used for water chemistry analysis. Ion chromatographs are able to measure concentrations of major anions, such as fluoride, chloride, nitrate, nitrite, and sulfate in the parts-per-billion (ppb) range.

Karl-Fischer Titration

Karl Fischer titration is a classic titration method in chemical analysis to determine trace amounts of water in a sample.
